Derrick Hardman steps in as Managing Director of Global Blue in the UK and Ireland

Global Blue, leader of Tax Free Shopping Industry, has appointed Derrick Hardman as the new Managing Director of the UK and Ireland.

Hardman previously served as Chief Operating Officer at Edenred UK and Managing Director of the Incentive & Motivation business at Edenred.

“I’m thrilled to join the great team that make up the Global Blue family,” Hardman said in a press release. “I’ve already had the privilege of meeting many of our clients and other partners. I’m looking forward to working closely with our clients to ensure they continue to receive the highest level of service possible, ensuring that retailers in the UK and Ireland are able to attract and best serve Globe Shoppers, while ultimately growing their businesses. With many new people joining the team this year, myself included, it’s exciting to have the opportunity to support them in their new roles and integrate them into the business.”

Hardman follows Gordon Clarke, who held the position for over six years.

The news comes as Global Blue is set to kickoff new Tax Free Shopping solutions and the opening of the brands first VIP lounge in London. Hardman will be overseeing the development of these innovative methods for the UK market.

The company has also begun utilizing Mobile Customer Care, such as WeChat - the shopping app sweeping China.
