Los Angeles - Paul Frank has finally returned to his origins. Saban Brands, owner of Paul Frank Industries, recently appointed the creative designer as the company’s director of creative development.

Frank originally rose to prominence in the fashion industry through his eponymous brand Paul Frank Industries (PFI). The brand, which was established in Southern California, grew popular for Frank’s creation of unique and vibrant characters such as Julius the Monkey and more. Although the brand has now become world renown, Frank had no idea that the characters would be so popular. Although Frank hasn’t been with the company for some time, coming back to the brand is something that he is excited for. “Julius and all of the Paul Frank characters are a part of me, which is why it’s such an amazing feeling to reunite with them,” said Frank. He was hired by Saban Brands to bring back authenticity to the brand he once created. His key duties in his new role will involve designs, character development, and also working on other content for the Saban Brands company.

When Frank previously worked at his company, he was providing creative content and direction over PFI’s voice, logo, brand expansion, product design and more. His vision for the brand helped to grow PFI into the company it is today. “The global success of Paul Frank Industries is a true testament to the creativity of Paul Frank and his colorful imagination and quirky designs,” said Dan Castle, managing director of Saban Brands Lifestyle Group. Frank also partnered and collaborated with many artists and designers to create limited edition products and collection. He was involved with retail design and expansion as well. Frank was a key player in his original brand.

With Frank on board a second time, Saban Brands really hopes to bring PFI to a new level. “As we continue to evolve the PFI brand, we couldn’t think of a better talent to join our team,” said Castle. The brand recently revealed a new look at New York Fashion Week in September 2015. The showcase involved lively, vibrant looks that focused more on a fashion approach for the brand’s children’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection. The new vision, which Frank will play a key role in, is to bring quality apparel and lifestyle products to kids and youth fashion.

The Paul Frank brand was acquired by Saban Brands in 2010. Originally established in 1995 in Southern California, the brand has been around for over 20 years. The brand’s merchandise includes apparel, accessories, stationery, home decor, and more. Saban Brands, which was formed in 2010, serves as a global management approach to growing brands. The company works on monetizing its brands through content, media, and marketing. The company has wide range of groups including its Saban Brands Lifestyle Group (SBLG) which emphasizes fashion and lifestyle properties. Clients from the SBLG besides Paul Frank include Macbeth, Mambo, and Piping Hot.
