German fashion house Escada has appointed Glenn McMahon as its new chief executive officer, effective as of next month.

McMahon will succeed the label's former CEO, Bruno Sälzer, who exited the company last month to take on a new challenge as chief executive of British fashion label Bench. He will be based at Escada's head office in Munich and will be working alongside with Megha Mittel, managing director and chairman of the German label.

Mittel told WWD she is “convinced we've found the ideal CEO for Escada with Glenn.” She added that the company feels that “it is now time to bring the brand more strongly into center stage, further improve customer satisfaction and further advance international expansion.”

McMahon, who is aware of Escada's past, brand DNA, retail network and operational systems said that he “sees enormous potential for further growth and brand development. I was always a big fan of the brand and am looking forward to working with Megha Mittal and her team.”

Prior to taking on his new role at Escada, McMahon was president and CEO at Tamara Mellon. Before joining the team at the eponymous luxury label, he was CEO of St. John Knits for six years.
