US sportswear giant Nike has announced a change to its senior leadership team with the appointment of Jane Ewing as executive vice president and chief commercial officer, effective September 7, 2026.
Ewing will report directly to Nike president and chief executive officer Elliott Hill and will join the company's senior leadership team. In her new role, Ewing will lead the global marketplace organisation, which encompasses sales and Nike Direct. Vice president of global sales Erica Bullard, vice president of Nike Direct Shannon Glass and vice president of geo and marketplace analytics Gail Cornelius will all report to Ewing.
"Jane’s experience, leadership and global perspective will help us continue this work and accelerate growth across Nike Direct and wholesale," said Hill in a memo sent to employees. "Her role is vital to creating even stronger connections between brand, product and marketplace while serving athletes and consumers around the world."
Ewing brings more than two decades of global leadership experience across retail, consumer goods, operations and sustainability. She joins Nike after nearly 14 years at retail giant Walmart, where she most recently served as interim CEO for Sam’s Club China. In that position, she oversaw a multi-billion dollar membership business across 30 cities. Ewing also previously led one of the largest global divisions for UK beverage firm Diageo.
The appointment comes as Nike continues to execute its operational comeback by strengthening its product pipeline, expanding wholesale partnerships and integrated marketplace strategies, and driving growth across its direct-to-consumer (D2C) and retail operations.
