G-Star Raw names Patrick Kraaijeveld and Rob Schilder Co-CEO's

London - G-Star Raw has bid adieu to its current chief executive officer Jos van Tilburg, as Patrick Kraaijeveld and Rob Schilder have been named co-chief executive officers.

The duo, who previously served as chief operations officer and chief commercial and creative officer respectively, have succeeded van Tilburg, who has served as G-Star Raw' CEO for 27 years. Kraaijeveld and Schilder were officially appointed Co-Ceo's on October 12, as Van Tilburg has remained on board at the denim company as chairman of the board, turning his attention from managing the daily operations of the the company to the strategic level.

"I am confident that Patrick Kraaijeveld and Rob Schilder will lead this company as CEO’s with the same passion as I have done and will continue to do as Chairman," said Jos van Tilburg in a statement. "Ongoing product development combined with creativity and innovation has been our guiding principle since day one and Rob and Patrick are dedicated to continue and expand on this mission."

Both Schilder and Kraaijeveld have been with G-Star Raw for many years, thereby proving the leadership skills needed to oversee the company in complementary roles. The two have "naturally grown in responsibilities", adds G-Star Raw, making this the right moment to introduce the Co-CEO structure. The new shared role is set to provide the company with a clear division of the responsibilities demanded from the top management team and aims to support the denim label's future growth.

The new appointment at G-Star Raw comes not long after the company named London-based designer Aitor Throup as its first executive creative director. Throup, who took on the role last month, currently oversees both the denim label's women's and men's main collection as well as the RAW Research division.
