German womenswear brand Gerry Weber has named Ralf Weber, the son of the fashion group’s founder, as chief executive, effective from February 25.

Weber, who joined the three-man managing board in 2013, is currently head of sales and corporate development, with responsibility for national and international wholesale and retail, from the end of February he will also take over as CEO from David Frink.

Frink, will give up his post as CEO, but he will continue to run finance, logistics, IT, administration and human resources, the company said in a short statement. The third board member, Arnd Buchart, will remain unchanged and continues with his responsibility for products, brands and licences.

This new appointment for the Dortmund-based company follows its recent announcement to buy fellow German women’s fashion group Hallhuber as part of its growth strategy.
