Ex-Starbucks head of digital Adam Brotman has joined struggling apparel retailer J. Crew as President and Chief Experience Officer, reports GeekWire. At the coffee retailer, Brotman was responsible for its digital business, including mobile order and pay initiative.

On Brotman’s appointment, the report quoted J. Crew CEO Jim Brett saying, “Adam’s experience with global field operations and cutting edge consumer-facing digital platforms makes him an invaluable partner in shaping and driving J.Crew Group’s strategic initiatives to the next level.”

Brotman has been associated with Starbucks since 2009, most recently as vice president of global retail operation and partner digital engagement. Prior to Starbucks, he has worked at Corbis and PlayNetwork.

J. Crew’s total revenues for the third quarter decreased 5 percent to 566.7 million dollars, while comparable company sales decreased 9 percent following a decrease of 8 percent in the third quarter last year. Net loss was 17.6 million dollars compared to 7.9 million dollars in the third quarter last year.
