Peter Williams has stepped down as chairman of Jaeger after just six months. Williams, former boss of Selfridges, joined the private equity-backed retail chain to help transform its online operations as well as drive forward the retailer’s five-year turnaround strategy.

Williams, who is also chairman of online fashion retailer Boohoo, homeware retailer Brissi and German eyewear etailer Mister Spex, and a non-executive director at Rightmove, Sportech and Cineworld, has stepped down as he believes the retailer needs somebody with more time to devote to the business.

Commenting on Williams departure, Jaeger chief executive Colin Henry said: “I would like to thank Peter for his advice and oversight during his time at Jaeger. We wish him the very best in his other board roles.”
