Asos Plc has announced the appointment of Jon Kamaluddin as an independent non-executive director, effective December 1, 2025. Kamaluddin will assume the role of chair of the audit committee and will also join the remuneration committee, the online fashion retailer said in a press release.
Bringing more than 20 years of international retail, finance and technology experience, Kamaluddin is no stranger to Asos. He previously served on the executive team, first as finance director from 2004 to 2009, and subsequently as international director from 2009 to 2013, during which he played a central role in the company’s overseas expansion.
Beyond Asos, Kamaluddin has held several prominent board positions, including chair of Klarna Bank AB, chair of Job & Talent Limited, and senior independent director and audit committee chair at Farfetch. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and currently serves as an independent advisor to Felix Capital and a director of the Secret Linen Store Limited.
The board changes follow Natasja Laheij’s appointment as Asos chair, effective today. Laheij will take over as chair of the nomination committee, with José Manuel Martínez Gutiérrez joining the committee immediately. Laheij will step down as chair of the audit committee and as a member of the remuneration committee once Kamaluddin’s appointment becomes effective on December 1.
Commenting on the appointment, Laheij said: "I am delighted that Jon is joining ASOS to lead the Audit Committee following my appointment as Company Chair. Jon brings a depth of relevant industry knowledge and experience across international ecommerce and payments and will be a valuable addition to our Board."
