Kathy Kweon in as president of Citizens of Humanity

Citizens of Humanity, the brand known for their trendy and edgy denim offerings, has a new lady in charge. Kathy Kweon, the former vice president and brand director of AG, has been named president of the company. She succeeds Amy Williams, who has held the post since 2012. Williams has been promoted to CEO.

The appointments for both Kweon and Williams will be effective as of June 10. Citizens of Humanity has seemed to develop quite the habit of poaching employees from AG. Recently in March, Jazmin Kim joined Citizens of Humanity as Goldsign's Creative Director and the Design Director for Fabric Brand's first women offshoot, but, she recently left the company. Catherine Ryu took over as head of women's design at Citizens of Humanity after a brief stint at AG.

On the appointment of Kweon, Williams said in a statement, "“Over the last few years, we have cultivated our partnerships with top retailers, but know there is more to do. Kathy’s strong record and knowledge of both the international and domestic markets offer us a unique opportunity that we simply could not pass up.”
