New York - FashionUnited recently announced that Aaron Levine, the former men's designer for Club Monaco, would be taking over as Abercrombie and Fitch's head of men's design. The struggling teen retailer is trying to find every way possible to at least return to some of their former glory, and it appears that Levine won't be their only significant hire. Katia Kuethe, the former Creative Director of Lucky, has been hired as the brand's Creative Director of Marketing.

Kuethe recently left her role at Lucky last month, perfect timing considering that Lucky is going out of print, but she didn't have any immediate plans announced. Prior to her role at Lucky, Kuethe was Senior Director of Creative at Kate Spade. Her biggest challenge in her new role will be figuring out how to help market Abercrombie and Fitch in a teen retail landscape that is dominated by H&M and Forever 21.

With Levine at the helm of the men's design branch, the company's next step will be to hire a new head of design for A&F women's. As for their sister company Hollister, the brand has already hired Lisa Lowman, formerly of Lucky Brand (no connection to Lucky magazine) as their head of designer for Hollister Girls. The company is currently still seeking a head of design for Hollister Guys.

Levine and Lowman have already begun in their new roles, with Levine expected to step into his relatively soon. Things certainly are looking up for the brand, and these new hires are just the beginning to the first layer of the cake. Within the next year, the public could be looking at a whole new Abercrombie and Fitch.
