Burke, who has risen through the ranks at both Empire Stores and Redcats, has held the role of COO since 2012. He succeeds Saida Gallouj, who is now Head of laredoute.com, as CEO and will report to Michael Truluck, CEO of La Redoute International.
Truluck said: "Richard's progression in the retail environment, detailed knowledge of the business and his close involvement in the development of our current business strategy made him the ideal choice for the role.
“Richard has a real enthusiasm and passion for ensuring people reach their potential and he has a proven ability to grow great teams which will be pivotal in the success of La Redoute UK.”
Commenting on his promotion, Burke, added: "It's an exciting time for the brand and I'm hugely proud to be at the helm of La Redoute UK. In the short term my role is to ensure the business maintains its commercial success while making sure we have a strategy in place to sustain long term growth and profitability.”
