Luxury department store Liberty has promoted head of collaborations Scott Tepper to fashion buying director, replacing Stephen Ayres, who left the retailer to join e-tailer Avenue 32.

Tepper, who joined Liberty last year from Kurt Geiger, will continue to work alongside the Liberty Art Fabrics team to identify and create future collaboration projects, while also working closely with Liberty’s managing director Ed Burstell and the buying and merchandising team to grow Liberty’s fashion offering.

In addition, Liberty has also promoted head of beauty and accessories Gina Ritchie to buying director for beauty, jewellery and accessories. Ritchie joined Liberty in 2009 as a beauty buyer and moved into the head of beauty and accessories role in 2012.

Both Tepper and Ritchie will report to Burstell and to Marco Capello, the store’s executive chairman and the managing partner of Bluegem, Liberty’s private equity owner.
