Louis Vuitton names Hector Muelas chief brand creative officer

French luxury house Louis Vuitton has appointed Hector Muelas to the newly created role of chief brand creative officer, effective November 1, 2026.

Muelas transitions from US luxury jeweller Tiffany & Co., where he has served as global chief brand and creative officer since August 2023. Both houses operate under the umbrella of French luxury conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH).

Writing on LinkedIn, Muelas expressed gratitude for his tenure at Tiffany & Co., thanking leaders including Alexandre Arnault, Anthony Ledru and Andrea Davey.

"Grateful for the extraordinary years at Tiffany & Co., for the people who shaped them with their vision and trust (Alexandre Arnault, Anthony Ledru, Andrea Davey, and so many more), and for the opportunity to begin a new chapter with a Maison so iconic that, without it, travel as we know it today -in all its poetic beauty and transformative power- wouldn’t be the same," Muelas said.

The move deepens Muelas’ long-standing involvement with LVMH. He initially joined the group in May 2015 as global vice president of content and creative, later stepping in as chief brand officer at German luggage manufacturer Rimowa from June 2017 to June 2019 to spearhead its global relaunch.

Between his tenures at Rimowa and Tiffany & Co., Muelas spent two years as global group creative director for worldwide marketing communications at technology giant Apple, leading brand marketing for services including Apple TV, Apple Music and Apple Pay. He previously oversaw global creative initiatives for the iPhone and Apple Watch between 2012 and 2015, alongside independent advisory roles for private equity and venture capital firms.

His background spans more than two decades in creative direction and editorial management across North America and Europe. Earlier roles include creative executive at US talent agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA), creative director at Dutch advertising agency Wieden + Kennedy, and editor-in-chief and partner at Canadian digital media company Vice Media.
