Classic German footwear brand Birkenstock is expanding Natural Skin Care into the United States with Louise Caldwell taking the helm as president and general manager of the brand. The Birkenstock Group, who also owns the sister company Birkenstock Cosmetics announced Caldwell’s appointment this morning in a press release.

Prior to working with Birkenstock, Caldwell served as the vice president of sales at Revlon and Elizabeth Arden. She also worked with Drunk Elephant, the fastest growing brand skin care brand in the U.S. market at Sephora, as the senior vice president of sales.

“Birkenstock is such an iconic global brand that proudly stands for health and wellness as well as high-quality, well-made products,” Caldwell shared in a statement. “With a strong foundation in footwear that delivers real benefits and a deeply devoted fan base made up of so many naturally-minded women, the opportunity to bring this premier range of Made in Germany natural skin care to the U.S., is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

As an industry veteran, Caldwell will be reporting to Birkenstock Group’s two CEOs, Oliver Reichert and Markus Bensberg and will oversee the high-growth category as well as spearhead the launch of full product range in America.
