Affordable luxury label Faconnable is currently down one very significant member of its team. It was announced this morning that Ludovic le Gourrièrec has left his position as Deputy Managing Director, effective immediately. Le Gourrièrec wasn’t available for immediate commentary, but, he has confirmed his departure to several news outlets, including Women’s Wear Daily. Faconnable representatives were also unavailable for immediate commentary.
It was quite a surprise to see a man who was essential in helping to turn Faconnable around just depart so abruptly. Gourrièrec was a key component in helping Faconnable reposition itself as one of the premiere affordable luxury brands, aiding in the appointment of the brand’s current Artistic Director, Dublin-born designer Daniel Kearns. No immediate successor for Gourrièrec was named.
While Gourrièrec’s abrupt departure is quite a surprise, the businessman should have no problem finding himself a new gig. Prior to joining Faconnable, Gourrièrec held positions at Yves Saint Laurent, Lanvin, and John Galliano. For now, the fashion industry waits to hear the news of Gourrièrec’s next endeavor, and who will succeed him at Faconnable.
