Mammut CEO Rolf Schmid resigns

After spending almost two decades with the Mammut Sports Group, Chief Executive Rolf Schmid has decided to part ways with the company.

“Mammut has become a part of me and I am very proud to have developed with you, our customers and with our dedicated staff, the brand and the company from being a small niche player to becoming one of the most well-known mountaineering and outdoor companies. I am convinced that the path taken in recent years has been the right one for the company,” said Schmid.

Schmid will continue to shoulder his responsibilities as CEO, till the company finds his replacement. After that he will serve as a consultant to Conzzeta, the owner of Mammut. He joined Mammut as head of its sports division in 1996 and took over as the company’s CEO four years later.
