Marks and Spencer has promoted Queralt Ferrer, its former head of design for its Autograph and Limited ranges, to the newly created role of design director - womenswear, lingerie and beauty.
Ferrer’s appointment follows that of Jo Jenkins as director of womenswear, beauty and lingerie, bringing together all of the product areas catering to women.
Both Jenkins and Ferrer will work alongside each other, Jenkins responsible for trading across the categories and Ferrer for design, taking on responsibility for the brand’s Best of British collection and its Classics range, while reporting directly into recently appointed general merchandise boss Steve Rowe.
A spokesperson for Marks and Spencer said: “We are pleased to promote Queralt Ferrer to the position of design director, womenswear, lingerie and beauty. The appointment supports our commitment to improving product style and is in line with our recent move to align accountability for the product areas designed for our female customers.”
The appointment follows the department of the previous womenswear director, Frances Russell, who left the business in August.
