Moda Operandi VP of accessories merchandising exits

Jodi Kaplan is leaving Moda Operandi’s to pursue a consulting agency. Kaplan held the role of vice president for merchandising handbags, shoes, jewelry and home. She had been with the international e-commerce site for two years.

Kaplan intends to focus full-time on her consultancy firm, Facet Luxury Group, which she founded in 2016. With this, she work closely with designers in the fine jewelry space to help them bring brands to market. She told WWD that she has “always been a champion of the artisan and emerging talent.”

During her time with Moda Operandi, Kaplan helped grow the platform’s accessories market through encouraging buyers to focus on the mid-priced category. Prior to joining Moda Operandi, Kaplan was vice president of jewelry and watches for Bergdorf Goodman.

Kaplan spoke to WWD of her tenure with Moda Operandi, stating, “Moda is an amazing, dynamic place to work and offers a unique platform, especially for emerging designers. It has been a pleasure to have been part of this company for the last two years.”
