Lifestyle clothing brand Musto has named Steve Jepson to the newly created role of head of sales to focus on strategies that will strengthen and grow the brand’s core specialist distribution.

The appointment follows the hiring of Simon Rosenberg as head of retail, also a new position, who was also brought in as part of Musto’s growth plans.

Jepson will report into commercial director Simon Busby and will work on not only building the brand’s core distributions but also to build a complementary presence in premium department stores and multiple channels. He will also manage the established UK and Eire sales team and will take responsibility for all wholesale channels within the market.

Commenting on the appointment, Busby said: “We are delighted to welcome Steve on board. His previous experience, knowledge and connections in our industry and beyond, along with a history of evolving and growing core channel traditional distribution, whilst expanding brand reach by adding new complementary distribution, will certainly add to a strong existing team as we seek to deliver our strategic pillars of growth for the UK and Eire.”

Jepson’s previous roles include head of sales at Hunter Boot, as well as senior positions within well-known footwear and sports brands including Fred Perry and O’Neill.

On his new role, Jepson added: “I am delighted to be joining Musto at this stage in the brand’s development. An iconic British brand which is at the forefront of technical development, Musto has an excellent distribution network across sailing, equestrian and country sectors, and a strong team in place which I am looking forward to working with as we continue to build customer support, brand awareness and enter the next step of Musto’s drive towards becoming a truly great British brand.”
