N Brown strengthens leadership with Zoe Matthews as MD of retail

UK digital retail platform N Brown Group has appointed Zoe Matthews as managing director of retail.
Matthews joins N Brown with more than 25 years of experience leading buying, product and retail transformation across fashion and home retailers. She will lead the retail business of the UK-based company, overseeing strategy, trading and commercial performance as the group continues to strengthen its proposition.

Joy added that retail remains fundamental to the strategy of the group as it works to simplify operations and deliver for customers.
Most recently, Matthews served as senior vice president at India-based Reliance Retail, where she led growth strategy. Prior to this, she was product lifestyle director at John Lewis, leading the fashion and home business and all category trading teams representing a portfolio of two billion pounds in revenue.
Earlier in her career, Matthews held senior leadership roles at George at Asda, where as vice president she helped lead a clothing business generating approximately 1.5 billion pounds in revenue. She has also held positions at Very Group, Gap Europe, White Stuff and House of Fraser, having started her career at Marks & Spencer.
In her new role, Matthews will work with teams across the business to strengthen customer proposition, accelerate commercial performance and build on the expertise of the group in fit, value and inclusive fashion.

N Brown is headquartered in Manchester and employs over 1,200 people nationwide. The company operates strategic retail brands including JD Williams, Jacamo and Simply Be.
