N Brown's sustainability manager Joe Mountain announces departure

UK retail group N Brown sustainability manager Joe Mountain has announced his departure from the business after four years.

Mountain shared the news via LinkedIn, reflecting on his tenure driving the company's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy. During his time at the Manchester-based group, Mountain held progressive roles, starting as assistant sustainability lead in June 2022 before advancing to sustainability lead in March 2023, and subsequently being appointed sustainability manager in December 2024.

“Today marks my last day at N Brown Group,” Mountain stated on LinkedIn. “It’s been a real privilege to spend the last four years driving the group’s sustainability and ESG agenda. We’ve made a huge amount of progress during that time, and I’m proud of what we’ve been able to achieve together.”

Mountain added: “We often say that the most important part of the business is its people. I can say that really is true! A huge thank you to everyone, past and present, who has supported me along the way.”

Alongside his role at N Brown, Mountain serves as founder and director of UK-based Future Fashion Fair, a position he has held since September 2021. In January 2026, he also joined the board of the Northern Fashion Collective as an advisor. Mountain indicated he plans to take a short break before embarking on his next professional role.
