Navabi taps Miriam Lahage as chief merchant

Plus-size online retailer Navabi has appointed former head of global fashion at eBay, Miriam Lahage, as its chief merchant.

Lahage first began working with the Germany-based fashion etailer back in May, 2014 as a strategic advisor and in her new role she will establish Navabi's premium branded proposal whilst guiding the ongoing development of the label's own brand offering.

She brings with her years of experience working within the industry and is best known for her two year tenure at eBay as global head of the online retailer's 6.3 billion pound fashion arm.

"The plus size market is the single biggest underserved sector in fashion. With a proven successful retail model and a huge potential for growth, Navabi’s pioneering work is something I both admire and very much want to be involved in," said Lahage on her new role to Retail Week.

"I'm thrilled to join this creative and bold team and look forward to driving forward our work in 2015." Her appointment comes at the plus-sized etailer sets its sights on expanding in the UK, after successfully raising 19.1 million pounds in investment this January.

Navabi currently offers over 100 global plus size brands as well as two home owned label, with the addition of a third brand names Navabi collection launching next month.
