Luxury knitwear brand Pringle of Scotland is set to present its first collection under the direction of its new women’s wear design director, Fran Stringer, at the Serpentine Gallery on February 22 during London Fashion Week.

Under the newly created role, Stringer has been working closely with Massimo Nicosia, former head of design at Pringle, who has been given the new title of men’s wear design director. Stringer, who was hired last October after working for the company for five months a consultant, and Nicosia now share creative control of the brand, according to WWD. Under her new role, Pringle of Scotland will be able to allocate more resources to the ongoing development of its collections.

“We are delighted to be able to expand our design team to allow both Massimo and Fran more time to dedicate to the development of the men’s and women’s seasonal collections, as well as working together on brand projects and image,” said Jean Fang, chief executive officer of Pringle to WWD. “With the importance now placed on pre-collections, combined with the expansion of our men’s wear business, we felt the time was right to dedicate more resources to the design team.”

Nicosia added that he saw Stringer’s appointment as “a very welcome addition to the Pringle team. This change has given me the luxury of more time to dedicate to the men’s wear collections and realize the brand’s full potential in this area.” Prior to joining the team at Pringle of Scotland, Stringer spent over seven years at British luxury brand Mulberry, most recently as head of ready to wear design.
