London - Judd Crane, the former director of women's wear and accessories at Selfridges, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Proenza Schouler. He is set to succeed Ron Frasch, who has been serving the label as interim CEO since last June, reports WWD.

An official announcement regarding his appointment is set to be made sometime this week and Crane is said to officially take on his new role in September. Crane has been hailed as "a world-class merchant" by designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, the design duo behind Proenza Schoulder.

"He instinctively understands and shares our vision of how we see the brand developing in the coming years. He has the impressive leadership skills and the ambition needed to drive the business during its next phase of growth and we are very much looking forward to having him on board," said the team.

During his four year tenure at Selfridges, Crane has overseen buying and merchandising for all product categories including ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes, jewelry and children. Prior to joining the team at Selfridges he was senior merchandising director at Pedder Group, the accessories division of Lane Crawford Joyce Group in Hong Kong.

Crane is understood to be looking forward to helping develop the New York based brand business strategy, which will "enable the brand to realize its tremendous potential." The brand previously announced plans to rethink its current approach to handbags and accessories in an effort to double their sales over the next three years.
