River Island names Adrian Arbuthnot as Head of Menswear Design

River Island has brought back Adrian Arbuthnot as Head of Menswear Design with an aim to expand and gain market share through its menswear segment. He steps into the position vacated by menswear design director Sarah Turton, who resigned from the company in 2015. His debut menswear range for River Island will be for A/W 2016.

Arbuthnot will shoulder the responsibility of the entire menswear design process, along with Menswear Design Managers Matthew Braun and Sarah Greig. He was earlier associated with online Indian fashion store Koovs as menswear design manager since October 2013.

Arbuthnot has previously worked as senior menswear designer at River Island between 2001 and 2006. Before joining Koovs, he has served different roles as design director of high street clothing supplier ADA, working with names like Next, Debenhams and House of Fraser between 2010 and 2013 and also a four year stint as menswear designer at Burton.
