London-based luxury label Roksanda has appointed Aspinal of London’s Carmela Acampora as its first chief executive officer.

Acampora, who is currently chief operating officer of leather goods brand Aspinal of London, will take up her new role with Roksanda in January. Prior to that she was at Burberry for almost 14 years, latterly as vice president and managing director of emerging markets.

Her appointment follows businesswoman Eiesha Bharti Pasricha’s investment in the London Fashion Week label this summer and the opening of its first store on London’s Mount Street. Acampora has been brought on board to continue with the label’s global expansion, as well as to oversee the launch of its e-commerce site in the first quarter of 2015.

On the announcement Roksanda Ilincic said: “Carmela’s appointment is a hugely exciting and significant step in the continued growth of my label. I am delighted to bring on board someone with the vision, energy and expertise to propel the evolution and expansion of the Roksanda brand on a global level.”

Bharti Pasricha, shareholder and board member, added: “The board went through a thorough process in selecting the right candidate whose vision is aligned with ours. This appointment marks an important step as we continue to invest in the future of the brand. We are excited at the prospect of Carmela and Roksanda working closely together and wish them both every success.”

Philip Bueno de Mesquita will continue in his new role as non-executive chairman.
