Shop Direct has announced that its chief information officer, Andy Wolfe, and head of digital transformation, Paul Hornby, have decided to move on from Shop Direct and will leave the business later this year.

Commenting on the development, Jon Rudoe, group retail, technology and data director at Shop Direct, said in a media release: “During his time with Shop Direct, Andy Wolfe has been instrumental in our transformation from a catalogue business to a technology-driven pureplay etailer. Paul Hornby has led Shop Direct teams to deliver huge advances in customer experience and site performance through innovations including our MyVery app, the Very Assistant chatbot, and our industry-renowned personalisation programme. JM Domaingue and Mike Francis are superb hires for us and I look forward to working with them both to continue to drive our technology capabilities and digital transformation as we accelerate towards world class.”

Jean Marc Domaingue named new CIO and Mike Francis, head, digital transformation

The company said in a statement that after five years as chief information officer of Shop Direct, Wolfe has decided move on. His responsibilities will no be shouldered by Jean Marc Domaingue, who has joined Shop Direct as interim CTO from technology and experience design specialist, Thoughtworks. The company added that Domaingue brings substantial experience across all areas of technology, including ecommerce, mobile, agile methodologies, programme management, IT architecture and systems integration. He’s also an experienced interim CTO, most recently at online fashion retailer Yoox, where he spent over a year prior to its merger with Net-A-Porter.

After 12 years with Shop Direct, most recently as head of digital transformation and formerly as head of ecommerce, Hornby, the company added, will leave in February to pursue a new opportunity. Alongside his current role as lead product owner, former Tesco product director, Mike Francis, who has been with Shop Direct since October, will step into Hornby’s position. An experienced and skilled digital executive, Francis most recently held the role of product director for new business ventures at Tesco.
