London - Six months after Simon Spurr's appointment at Gieves & Hawkes as creative director comes news of his departure. The designer has exited his role at the British fashion label prior to revealing his first collection, which was slated for debut during London Collections: Men, spring/summer 2017.

Spurr was first named creative director of the brand, which is owned by Trinity, last October when he was transferred from Kent & Curwen, another Trinity-held brand. At the time, Richard Cohen, chief executive officer at Trinity revealed his reasoning behind the appointment: "Simon’s appointment presents a significant opportunity to cement Gieves & Hawkes’ position as the epitome of modern British tailoring."

However, his tenure was short-lived as the designer quietly left his role in February. Trinity has yet to reveal a name for his successor, but the designer is set to reveal his debut floor-lamp collection known as Simon James at the Superdesign show in Milan, later this month.
