Deirdre Findlay has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer at Stitch Fix, the online service in which a personal stylist picks 5 pieces of clothing for customers, based on their profile. The customer can then decide which items to keep and which ones to return. Findlay will lead all marketing, creative and communications initiatives for the company. The start date was not disclosed.
”Deirdre is a fantastic leader with a deep understanding of what drives consumer behavior and how to connect with clients in an authentic way”, said Katrina Lake, founder and CEO of Stitch Fix, whom Findlay will report to, in a statement. Findlay has more than 20 years of experience. Her most recent position was Senior Director of Global Hardware Marketing at Google, where she managed all marketing operations for Google Home, Chromecast and Google Wifi. Prior to that, Findlay also worked at eBay, Whirpool Brands, Allstate Insurance and MillerCoors, among other companies, building brand strategy and leading integrated marketing campaigns.
“I’m excited to join the talented team at Stitch Fix and take the helm of a brand that sits at the intersection of fashion and technology”, said Findlay. The company uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to make better suggestions to their customers. Based on which items they keep and which items they return, the company has a constant feedback loop. Currently, Stitch Fix employs a team of 85 data scientists. The company reported this week that its client base has reached 2.7 million in Q3 2018 , a 30 percent growth year over year.
