SuperGroup names new non-executive director

SuperGroup, the owner of fashion brand Superdry, has named Steve Sunnucks as an independent non-executive director of the Group, with effect from March 1.
Sunnucks brings “significant expertise in the apparel retail sector” to the group, according to the press statement, as he has held senior executive and non-executive roles in the UK and the US, including nine years in leadership positions at Gap, where he became global president and four years as chief executive of New Look. He has also held senior roles at Burton, Sainsbury’s and Marks and Spencer.
SuperGroup chairman, Peter Bamford, said: "We are delighted that Steve will be joining the SuperGroup Board. He brings substantial experience in apparel retail, particularly in the USA which will become an increasingly important market to us as we deliver our strategy of becoming a global lifestyle brand. We look forward to working with Steve and sharing in his expertise and insights.”

In addition, SuperGroup also announced that Ken McCall has confirmed his intention to step down from his position as an independent non-executive director and will leave the board on July 13. McCall has been a member of the SuperGroup board since 2010.
Bamford added: "On behalf of the board I would like to thank Ken for his significant contribution to the Board over the last six years which has seen significant progress in the brand and the company. We wish him well for his future endeavours.”
