True Religion appoints chief executive

American denim brand True Religion has appointed John Ermatinger as chief executive following the resignation of current CEO, David Conn.
Ermatinger, had been serving as True Religion’s interim SVP of global sourcing and production, and will take up the role of CEO with immediate effect.
In a statement, the denim brand confirmed that Ermatinger has been tasked with building on the “strategic initiatives that have been implemented since TowerBrook’s acquisition in July 2013” and will guide the company into its “next phase of development”.
Prior to joining True Religion, Ermatinger served as the CEO of Tommy Hilfiger (Asia Pacific), president of Gap Inc. (Asia Pacific), president of the Americas for Levi Strauss & Co., as well as general manager of Nike (Asia Pacific).
John Anderson, chairman of the True Religion Board of Directors, said: “John is a seasoned industry veteran who will lead True Religion towards more accelerated growth. His strong management skills, deep experience at leading apparel companies and appreciation for high quality product is the right combination to drive True Religion’s transformation forward.”
Ermatinger added: “I am impressed with all that True Religion has achieved since TowerBrook’s acquisition and I look forward to working with the company’s talented leadership and associates to further this success.
