Virgil Abloh joins Evian as creative adviser

By Kristopher Fraser

Virgil Abloh, creative director of his own line, Off-White, and menswear director of Louis Vuitton, is still everyone's man of the hour. Just ask Evian who named the fashion designer and DJ their new creative adviser. Abloh will be focused on sustainable innovation design in this new role.

“Evian is an iconic brand with a strong heritage in fashion and creativity,” Abloh said in a statement. “Its sustainability ambitions align with my own. Together we can push boundaries and explore new areas of revolution, paving a better future for generations globally.”

Evian's current business plan includes becoming a 100 percent circular brand by 2025. By this year the company wants all of its water bottles to be made out of recyclable plastic.

Abloh will be tasked with designing Evian's future products in addition to using his platform to educate consumers on sustainability.

“Virgil is a creative innovator who has a degree in civil engineering and a CV that includes everything from creative direction to award-winning fashion design,” Patricia Oliva, global marketing vice president of Evian, said in a statement. “Virgil is the embodiment of the next generation’s possibilities.”
