Warehouse appoints customer director

British high street fashion retailer Warehouse has appointed Topshop digital director Kate Walmsley as its customer director, as part of the brand’s relaunch this year.

Walmsley will join the Warehouse management team to take up the newly created role of customer director later this year and will report directly into chief executive Liz Evans. She will be responsible for the overall Warehouse customer experience through digital, marketing, PR, brand creative, visual merchandising, customer services, innovation and social media.

Commenting on her new position, Walmsley said: “I am incredibly excited to be joining Warehouse at this pivotal time. In creating the customer director role, spanning all customer engagement both on and offline, Warehouse is demonstrating their desire to meet the demands of the contemporary consumer.”

Walmsley has been the digital director role at Topshop since April 2013, prior to that she held the head of ecommerce role at the fashion retailer. Before joining Topshop, she was planning director for the digital agency AKQA, working in its London, San Francisco and New York offices.

The creation of Walmsley’s customer director role is part of the brand’s relaunch taking place this year, which also includes the appointments of Alasdhair Willis as a board member and brand consultant and Emma Cook as design director. British designer Cook will launch her first line with the brand for autumn/winter 2016.
