London - British fashion brand Alexander McQueen has opened its first Parisian flagship store, some 14 years after the label first started showing at Paris Fashion Week, on the prestigious Rue Saint-Honoré.

The 5,300 square foot store features the retail concept conceived by Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen, in partnership with David Collins Studio, which has recently taken on the London Fashion Week design challenge.

Spanning over two floors, the store houses a full range of both men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and eveningwear, as well as accessories, such as limited-edition clutches.

Located across the Mandarin Oriental hotel and within walking distance of other high-profile hotels including the soon-to-reopen Ritz Paris, the flagship is in a prime spot to capture Chinese, American and European travellers.

Commenting on the opening, Burton said: “The Paris store is a truly significant opening and we are very proud to finally have a flagship in such an inspirational city. I am excited that customers will get to experience this exclusive McQueen world and shop in an immersive environment.”

Lewis Taylor, design director at David Collins Studio, added: “Working with Sarah Burton on the Alexander McQueen Paris store we have created a unique environment in this prestigious location. The beautiful natural pink and white onyx featured on the ground floor has a real softness and femininity.

“This is juxtaposed by the hard angular lines of the cracked marble and timber floor. Subversive details such as padded fitting rooms and illustrated wallpaper featuring flora, fauna and skulls, add to the immersion into the world of McQueen.”

Alexander McQueen will celebrate the new store opening during Paris Fashion Week.
