Angela Ahrendts is to exit Apple. The California-based technology giant announced its SVP of retail was leaving the company to pursue new opportunities.
Ahrends previously was a driving force at Burberry, taking the company from being known for its rainwear and checked logo products to a bonafide catwalk brand and the biggest British luxury house.
She was instrumental in making the Apple Watch be regarded as a luxury fashion item and changed Apple's retail landscape to be more experiential, opening in key boutique locations alongside other luxury brands.
Apple subsequently announced its new retail manager will be Deirdre O'Brien, currently senior vice president of people. In the past, O'Brien was responsible for planning the delivery of Apple products globally.
