Online retailer giant Asos has expanded its free returns service to customers overseas in the Netherlands as part of its overall goal to boost customer service in every market it operates in.

It's a first for the fashion e-tailer, Asos has signed partnerships with Post NL, UPS and Kiala to offer free returns in the country for a limited trial period. "It's a real first for Asos, we've never launched it in a country where we do not have a country website," explained said Natasja Giezen-Smith, regional manager for the Netherlands to FashionUnited.

Customers throughout the country will be able to return unwanted orders for free at over two thousand locations starting Monday, February 23. The free returns service is a pilot phase during which the online retailer will test the success and the demand for the service and comes after the launch of Next Day Delivery service, which was introduced within the country last month.

"We are really excited about it, I think that the service will do really well in the Netherlands. Plus, free returns has also become the norm in online shopping in the Netherlands and our customers have told us how important it is for them to have this option."
