Online fashion retailer Asos has signed up to trial same-day click-and-collect service Pass My Parcel in 20 retail outlets, which will be rolled out across the remaining 3,000 outlets over the coming months.

The service from the Connect Group was launched in October 2014 with Amazon, allows customers to pick up their online shopping orders from a network of local shops such as WH Smiths and convenience stores within 12 hours of placing an order.

According to the Pass My Parcel website if a customer orders by 11.45am they can pick up the same day from 8pm, or, for instance, ordering by 7.45pm their order will be ready the next day from 9am.

Asos marks Pass My Parcel’s second customer and comes as the Collect Group reported that its service delivered an “excellent operational performance” over the peak Christmas period and remains on track with its current expansion plans.

The next stage of its development is the launch of a mobile-enabled returns collection service, with a quick response code sent to customers’ mobile phones.
