British premium sportswear brand Castore launches in Iberia with first store in Marbella
British sportswear brand Castore is accelerating its international expansion strategy after signing a strategic alliance with Albion 1879, a Spanish company specialising in the management and scaling of premium brands. Through this agreement, the company will boost its omnichannel distribution network in Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Gibraltar.
The alliance includes the rollout of Castore's collections in both physical and digital channels, according to a statement obtained by FashionUnited. As a key milestone in this development plan, Albion 1879 plans to open the brand's first flagship store in the region by 2027, which will be located in Puerto Banús, Marbella.
“Our experience in building and developing premium brands allows us to ensure that Castore connects with consumers in an authentic and sustainable way, driving solid, long-term growth in the region,” said Nigel White, CEO of Albion 1879.
Tom Beahon, founder of Castore, said that the company's track record in developing premium brands “makes them the ideal partner to drive Castore's growth and bring the brand closer to consumers in Iberia”.
The entry into the Iberian Peninsula is part of Castore's international expansion. The company recently secured a 90 million pound financing line to support its global growth. This includes store openings in the UK, entry into the Middle East and Asia, and preparations for its US launch. In parallel, it has expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of outerwear brand Belstaff in 2025 and a majority stake in historic shoemaker Grenson in 2026.
Founded by brothers Tom and Phil Beahon, Castore is a premium sportswear brand that has grown rapidly in Europe thanks to its partnerships with elite teams and athletes. Its Team Sports division manages retail, e-commerce and events for organisations such as Athletic Club; Everton; several Formula 1 teams; the ECB; Saracens; Harlequins and the FAI. Meanwhile, its Mainline collection is aimed at both professionals and consumers.
Albion 1879 was founded in 1996 and operates in retail, wholesale and e-commerce channels. It claims to connect brands with over 1,000 points of sale, including its own stores, pop-ups, concessions in El Corte Inglés and online platforms.
