Heritage label Burberry has expanded its global flagship store on London’s Regent Street to open its first cafe, called Thomas’s, named after Burberry’s founder, Thomas Burberry.

The cafe, which offers an entirely British menu, sits in a new split-level space in the corner of the extended Regent Street store, and features black-and-white marble floors, black lantern chandeliers and large windows onto Sackville Street. The all-day menus offers British classics featuring ingredients all sourced from the UK from afternoon tea to lobster with chips.

Commenting on the cafe, Christopher Bailey, chief creative and chief executive officer of Burberry, said: "We wanted to create a space where our customers can spend time relaxing and enjoying the world of Burberry in a more social environment.

“By blending our new café, Thomas's, with a gifting area, we are trying something new that we hope customers in our home town of London will enjoy."

The new cafe sits alongside a new area dedicated to gifting, which carries homewares including throws, blankets, cushion covers, candles and games as well as stationery and travel related items, there is also a new line of canvas pouches and totes printed with a London map.

In addition, there is also a personalisation service, so customers can have gifts embroidered or leather embossed by hand by skilled craftsmen based in the store.
