Outerwear brand Canada Goose has expanded its online reach to the UK and France with the launch of its ecommerce site. From this week onwards customers will be able to purchase items directly from the brand through its canadagoose.com platform.
The new digital European flagship store aims to bring the brands closer to its consumers, while offering them a unique shopping experience. The online expansion marks Canada Goose's debut direct to consumer channel in Europe, following the launch of its first ecommerce site in Canada in 2015.
According to a statement, the outerwear brands selected the UK and France to serve as its first foray into the European market due to the "overwhelming demand" for its products, making the two markets its largest and fastest growing in Europe.
At the moment, Canada Goose counts 95 wholesale stockists throughout the UK, including the likes of Harvey Nichols and Harrods, but does not have any plans in the pipeline to open a physical standalone store in the country. However, as part of the 60 year old company's international expansion plans, the retailer will open two standalone flagship stores in New York and Toronto.
The expansion comes as Canada Goose makes a series of new appointments to help facilitate its global expansion scheme. In August the retailer announced three new executive appointments, including Lee Turlington as Chief Product Officer, Jackie Poriadjian-Asch as Chief Marketing Officer, and Scott Cameron as EVP of ecommerce, stores and strategy.
