Fashion brand Essentiel Antwerp is expanding into Asia by opening shops in Russia, China and Japan. The Belgian label already operated shops in the Netherlands, Spain and France, FashionNetwork reports.

The three new markets will be starting with wholesale. The label plans to test sales for three seasons and, if successful, franchise stores will be opened. The brand previously implemented this strategy in the Middle East and South Korea.

The Belgian label is also establishing itself in Scandinavia; soon Essentiel will present itself at the Revolver Trade Show in Copenhagen. At the same time, Essentiel Antwerp has stopped expanding into the US market, commercial director Gérald Didnik tells FashionNetwork.

After shop openings in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and Spain, the fashion brand also wants to open a new flagship store in Paris. It is also looking for a location for a store in Bordeaux.
