The Westminster City Council has given property developer Grosvenor planning permission for the development of a new hub for retailers, designers and makers at Eccleston Place, near Victoria station, the green light.

The new hub, which was designed by architects BuckleyGreyYeoman, will see four buildings in the area refurbished to offer approximately 80,000 square of space for retail, co-working area and eateries. Retail space will be reserved for up and coming designers and makers, and the co-working space will go to a mix of creative businesses.

"This is a really exciting opportunity to convert an underused space in South Belgravia into a creative hub for entrepreneurs and independent retailers," said Anna Farnes, director of London Estate Development Programme Grosvenor Britain & Ireland in a statement. "This new place - for visitors, workers and residents – will play an important part in contributing to the diverse and creative character of the area."
