Footwear brand UGG, Savile Row, menswear label Gieves and Hawkes, and luxury cashmere brand Colombo are among some of the latest signings for Hackney Walk, the first luxury outlet district in London.

They will be joined by menswear brand and concept store Present, who will stock Stone Island, CP Company and Woolrich, as well as accessories brand Folli Follie. They will sit alongside leading luxury brands already established in the area including Burberry, Aquascutum, Bally, Anya Hindmarch and Pringle of Scotland, as well as recent signings including Matchesfashion.com, Joseph, and Nike.

All five of the newly announced brands will open a shop within the shopping district, with units varying from 1,500 to 1,800 square foot. The stores will be located in the newly renovated Victorian railway arches that have been turned into twelve retail spaces designed by David Adjaye.

Hackney Walk founder and executive chairman, Jack Basrawy, said: “I believe that Hackney Walk will play a major role in the continued innovation and growth of the UK’s fashion retail industry. We are delighted that UGG, Gieves and Hawkes, Colombo, Folli Follie and Present will be joining Matchesfashion.com and Joseph in Hackney Walk’s renovated railway arches. It is also an honour to have Nike open providing another great store for the community.”

Commenting on the opening of its new store, Present retail director, Ben Banks said: “Present London is delighted to enter the new and prestigious off price opportunity at Hackney Walk. Premium off-price retail can often prove to be a gateway to full price seasonal transactions and as such we remain excited and intrigued as to how the business develops.”

Gieves and Hawkes, sales director, Giles Preston added: “We are very excited to be working with Hackney Walk and to being a founding retailer in such a dynamic shopping destination for both visitors and Londoners alike.”

The urban regeneration scheme is being developed by Hackney Walk Holdings and ICG-Longbow, who are being supported by Hackney Council, Network Rail, the Mayor of London and the Greater London Authority, as part of a major regeneration plan for East London.

The project aims to support the local community by providing retail jobs and offering pop-up spaces to pioneering fashion, food, and creative entrepreneurs. Many of the jobs in retail will be placed by Hackney Council’s ‘Ways into Work’ team following a major fashion retail-training programme.
