British department store group Harvey Nichols has signed an exclusive license agreement to open its first store in the State of Qatar, Doha as the company continues to expand its international presence.
The partnership between the group and Harvey Nichols Doha, luxury retail company affiliated to the Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Group of Companies, a leading Qatari business group, reinforces the company's presence in the luxury retail sector.
“Harvey Nichols will add a great shopping and dining experience to Qataris and expats alike in Qatar,” explained Mr. Hisham, Chairman and Managing Director for S. Al Mana. “Partnering with prestigious brands such as Harvey Nichols is a key factor of success as offering luxury retail products addresses our consumer needs.”
Harvey Nichols aims to open the 80,000 square foot store by the first quarter of 2017, which will offer a selection of the retailer's fashion, beauty, childrenswear and homeware ranges. The new store will be located within Doha Festival City, which is known as the luxury shopping center of Doha.
“Doha is an exciting market for Harvey Nichols due to the significant growth we are seeing in the country. Research tells us that our brand translates well in Qatar as well as with the Qatari customers when they shop in our home market,” commented Stacey Cartwright, Group Chief Executive of Harvey Nichols.
“We look forward to offering Qataris the best shopping and dining experience, when we open our doors for business.” The store will be Harvey Nichols eighth store opening outside of the UK and Ireland, with additional overseas stores in Hong Kong, Dubai, Riyadh, Turkey and Kuwait.
