Savile Row tailor, Huntsman, has opened its first location away from London's iconic tailoring street, at 130 West 57th Street, Manhattan, New York.

The new shop marks Huntsman debut store off Savile Row and further cements the tailors growth overseas in the US. With an estimated 60 percent of the Huntsman's clientele based in the US, the new location is set to serve as a retail point where the brand can host private fittings and provide further services to its clients.

"In a 167 year old business, there are traditions to nurture and others to challenge. While making garments by hand in a similar way as they were in 1849 ensures a quality rarely equaled with modern techniques, in today's world, I felt we should be closer and able to better serve our clients in America, where the largest HUmans client base lives and works," said Pierre Lagrange, Chairman and owners of Huntsman's in a statement.

"A New York presence was a logical next step, and with our pied-a-terre we're able to bring a little bit of our iconic Savile Row environment to the US." The store is open by appointment only, which can be made by either phone or email.
