Inditex brand Lefties opens second UK store at Lakeside
Spanish fashion conglomerate Inditex has expanded its footprint in the UK with the launch of its second Lefties store at Lakeside shopping centre. The opening follows the recent debut of the brand in the British market and marks a key step in Inditex’s regional expansion strategy.
Spanning 36,000 square feet, the new store houses collections across womenswear, menswear and kidswear, alongside lines for teenagers, babies and newborns. The location also carries footwear, accessories and the Lefties ‘Home Collection’, which offers textiles, home décor and fragrances.
Aiming to enhance operational efficiency and consumer experience, the space integrates digital retail solutions. The unit features assisted checkouts, smart fitting rooms fitted with returns hatches for unpurchased garments, an automated garment sorter and a robotic hanger sorter.
Inditex expands footprint at UK shopping destination
The arrival of Lefties succeeds the opening of a 12,500 square foot Bershka store at the centre in October 2026. Together with established outlets for Zara, Pull & Bear and Stradivarius, Inditex now occupies more than 125,000 square feet of retail space at Lakeside.
Robert Jewell, managing director of asset management at British property firm Pradera, stated: “The opening of Lefties is a significant moment for Lakeside, and marks the next chapter in its evolution as a super-regional. The calibre of brands that the destination continues to attract is testament to the strategic leasing momentum that we have generated over the past few years, and this shows no sign of slowing down, with many more exciting signings on the horizon.”
Jewell added that the addition solidifies the complex as a key lifestyle and retail hub within the country. The scheme, owned by British retail operator SGS UK Retail, has recorded more than 130 million pounds in occupier investment since the start of 2024.
The launch follows other recent retail additions at the centre, including Oliver Bonas, Urban Outfitters and Hollister, which comprise a combined 16,500 square feet of space. Lakeside currently attracts over 17 million visitors annually across its 1.6 million square foot commercial offer.
