Department store John Lewis is inviting women-led makers, designers, producers and brands to have their products stocked by the retailer.
The International Women’s Day-themed ‘John Lewis & Sisters’ campaign is searching for women to share their talents, stories and ideas with buyers as the retailer searches for more makers for Christmas.
Charlotte Lock, customer director for the John Lewis Partnership, said in a statement: “For 160 years, women creators and makers have been at the heart of John Lewis - from era-defining designers to our incredible Partners.
“We’re still partnering with incredible makers and are looking for the next generation, by inviting talented female business owners to come and help us shape the future of the John Lewis brand.”
Women-led businesses can apply by emailing callingwomenmakers@johnlewis.co.uk with details of their product range, history, UK location and supply chain processes by Sunday, March 17. Finalists will have the opportunity to become a stockist in John Lewis stores for Christmas.
To mark the launch of the search, the John Lewis Partnership has also decorated its Oxford Street flagship with a collage showcasing makers of the past, present and future, from the late Sarah Lewis (John Lewis’ wife) and Barbara Hepworth to present-day icons Charlotte Tilbury and Emma Bridgewater.
