American fashion and lifestyle brand Kate Spade is set to open a new store on London’s Regent Street, after signing a lease with the The Crown Estate on behalf of the Regent Street Partnership.

The store will occupy the former Esprit unit at 178-182 Regent Street and will span just over 11,000 square foot over two floors and will feature a “multi-room” concept design to allow customers to experience the “breadth” of Kate Spade New York.

The expansion is part of the brand’s continuing strategy to “capitalise” on global appeal and customer demand, and the Regent Street store will mark the brands fourth store in the UK. It’s other stores are located at Covent Garden, Sloane Square and Westfield London.

Opening in 2016, the store will house product categories including Kate Spade New York handbags, fashion accessories, small leather goods, tech accessories, jewellery, watches, shoes, legwear, eyewear, stationery and home decor.

"We remain focused on our two key axes of growth – geographic expansion and product category expansion – and selected the Regent Street location based on customer demand and existing success in this market," said Craig Leavitt, chief executive officer of Kate Spade and Company. "This progress further establishes our foothold in the European region as we move toward our vision of becoming a powerful, global, multichannel lifestyle brand."

Kate Spade New York will join other global fashion and lifestyle brands on Regent Street, including Burberry, Hunter and Jo Malone.
