German luxury brand MCM (Modern Creation Munich) has opened a new flagship store in London, after previously closing its former standalone store on Sloane street.
The Munich-based leather accessories retailer has taken over the former Christian Dior store in Mayfair, signing a 15-year lease on a 2,690 square foot store at 16 Conduit Street, located midway between Bond Street and Regent Street. The store’s location sees MCM sitting between a number of established luxury UK retailers, such as Harrods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols. MCM is said to have agreed to a rent of approximately 470,000 pounds a year for it’s London store.
“We are very pleased that a luxury brand of this calibre has chosen Conduit Street after considering the wider Mayfair area,” said Anthony Selwyn, head of central London retail at Savills. “MCM will be an excellent addition to the street’s burgeoning luxury retail line up.” MCM is set to officially celebrated its new store opening on December 6, in honour of the brand’s 40th anniversary.
